Support Request: Open/Save Dialog Box disappears in Office 2013

Description

I am using the Start Screen start page and I have added icons for Word, Excel and PowerPoint. I can open the applications without any issue, but inside Word, Excel or PowerPoint if I go to File -> Open and select Computer, then click Browse, I see the open dialog window appear then it quickly disappears. I have two machines running SiteKiosk and have verified the settings are identical. But for some reason one machine makes the open dialog box disappear. Any ideas?

This dialog will be blocked in SiteKiosk in "Start Once" mode by the windows & dialogs management. In "Auto Start" Mode logged in uder the SiteKiosk user account, this dialogs is not blocked. If you choose "Autostart Mode" when starting SiteKiosk do you get the same behavior?

Yes, when I use AutoStart the dialog box does not disappear. If I use the Customized start and select the option to "Run SiteKiosk automatically at Windows startup (auto start), and then I choose "Auto start with shell replacement" and uncheck the 3 boxes below, the open dialog does not work. Does this work differently than AutoStart?

Those rules are deactivated when running under the default Autostart user account in Windows but it sounds like you have the users logging into Windows accounts manually. To remove those rules at your discretion, do the following. Please note that other user accounts may not be as locked down as the SiteKiosk Windows user account.

While in the SiteKiosk configuration tool, go to >Basic >Access/Security Then click the Settings button next to "Block system critical windows & dialog boxes" and delete the entries; "Save a Copy*", "Save*" and "Open*" from the Window title column.
