Support Request: Secure Trading - Site Security Update

Description

Hi there,

We have received the below email from SecureTrading who are the online merchant that we use for taking credit card transactions. Can you advise if we need to do anything to the Kiosk software?

Site Security Update
We have released a new update in our STPP payment pages. The update improves the existing site security cryptographic hash feature, which is used to verify the details sent to your payment pages haven't been modified.
We recommend you check which version of the site security your website uses. This can be done by checking the cryptographic site security hash your store generates, during the checkout process:
• If the site security hash starts with the letter “g” you are using the new version.
• If the site security hash does not start with the letter “g” you are using the old version.
The below examples show the new and old versions:
• New version (correct)
gc543c977518e7e676fd07c80c478207ee993163d770acb702ae45fcd9d94f5d5
• Old version (incorrect)
c543c977518e7e676fd07c80c478207ee993163d770acb702ae45fcd9d94f5d5
If you are using the “Old” version then you require an upgrade to your Site Security. To upgrade your Site Security follow the step by step guide in section 6. Of the STPP-Payment-Pages-Setup-Guide.
IMPORTANT – Do not enable any of the System Rules until you have performed the upgrade above for Site Security, this could affect your service and the ability to process payments.

Cheers

Hello,

Thank you for this notification.

SiteKiosk does use the STPP payment process method for credit card payment in SiteKiosk with Secure Trading account
http://www.provisio.com/helpconsole/SiteKiosk%20Help/en-US/default.htm?credit_cards.htm

It is therefore possible that SiteKiosk is affected by this change.
I have forwarded this to our developer team for further analysis.

Hello,

Even SiteKiosk also does use the STPP protocol this change does not apply to SiteKiosk.
SiteKiosk does use another method than web pages using Secure Trading with STPP.

So you don’t need to do / change anything with SiteKiosk.
